미국 보스턴에 있는 '트루 컬러'라는 청소년 LGBTQ들이 모여 만든 극단에서 자신들이 경험하고 겪어온 삶에 대한 이야기를 연극으로 보여준다. 이들의 고민은 또래 친구들과 사뭇 다르지만 그 마음은 누구보다 진지하다. 실제 자신의 이야기를 연극에 올리면서 자신감을 얻고 성정체성에 확신을 가지고 당당하게 살아갈 용기를 얻는다. (조아해)

 

 

What happens when LGBTQ youth of color band together and dare to be ‘out’ on stage about their lives and their loves? The cast of ‘TRUE COLORS: OUT Youth Theater’ transforms their struggles into performance for social change. With wit, candor and attitude, the troupe captivates audiences surprised to hear such stories in school settings. After the Boston Marathon bombs explode near their rehearsal space, the troupe becomes even more determined to share their stories of love to help their city heal. (Jo Ahae)

엘렌 브로드스키는 교육 및 보건 분야에서 12년간의 경력을 쌓은 후에 영화를 찍기 시작했다. 그녀가 연출한 <What do you know? Six to twelve year olds talk about gays and lesbians <, <Only One Boss<, <Dental Farmer>(더냐 알롼 공동 연출) 등의 단편영화들은 영화제에서 수상을 했으며 전 세계 7개 대륙의 영화제에서 상영되었다.
