캐나다가 배출한 세계적 여성감독인 레아 풀이 처음으로 선보인 장편 다큐멘터리인 <핑크 리본 주식회사>는 유방암 캠페인을 둘러싼 논쟁적인 이슈를 제기한다. 유방암 캠페인은 여성 질병으로서 유방암에 대한 경각심을 불러일으키고 유방암을 앓고 있는 여성들에 대한 지지와 지원을 위한 커뮤니티 운동으로 출발했지만, 거대 상업자본이 결합되면서 이 캠페인은 점차 상업적 홍보의 각축장이 되었다. 캠페인의 초점 또한 ‘유방암을 어떻게 예방하고 치유할 것인가’가 아닌 ‘얼마나 많은 기금을 모았는가’에 맞춰지면서 여성 질병에 대한 원인 규명과 치료 및 여성들에 대한 지원이라는 취지와는 멀어져 버렸다. The first full-length documentary film Pink Ribbons Inc. by a world renowned Canadian director, Léa POOL presents a controversial issue regarding Breast Cancer Campaign. Breast Cancer Campaign aroused people’s attention to breast cancer as a women’s disease and began as a community movement to help and support the women suffering from breast cancer. However, as they received aid from huge businesses, the campaign turned into an area for businesses to compete for promotions. The focus of the campaign also changed from “how to prevent and heal breast cancer” to “how much money was raised,” and thus became far removed from its original aim to find the cause of and the cure for this women’s disease and to support women. <감독> 레아 풀

1950년 스위스 출생. 1975년에 캐나다 퀘벡으로 이주하여 영화작업을 시작.<자유를 향해>(1999)로 베를린국제영화제 에큐메니컬상을 수상하였다. 2006년 그녀는 감독으로서의 역량과 퀘벡 영화에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 퀘벡대학교, 여성Y재단, 퀘벡 정부에서 각각 수여하는 세 개의 공로상을 수여 받았다.

Originally from Switzerland, she immigrated to Quebec, Canada in 1975, where her filmmaking career began soon after. She made an astonishing feature debut in 1984 with A Woman in Transit, which won several international awards. In 1986, Anne Trister was selected for the Official Competition at the Berlin International Film Festival. Set Me Free was awarded the Special Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1999.

This is a delightful and “hot” film that fully explores women’s erogenous zones and sexual pleasure. While there are numerous myths and discourses on men’s sexual desires, women’s sexuality and sexual desires still remain veiled in a mystery. As sexuality experts and medical experts throw this not-so-funny question, “Do women have erogenous zones or not?” this film decidedly answers “Yes!!!” It also reveals surprising facts about the physiology and the function of the G-spot through various interviews, scientific research, and experiences of women who actively explore their sexuality. This delightful study of women’s pleasures will soon be substituted by the fascination of the female body and the joy of discovery. (HONG So-in)

세골렌 아노토는 판테온 소르본 대학에서 경제학으로 석사학위를 받고, 졸업과 함께 릴 저널리즘 전문교육기관에 들어갔다. 프랑스와 스위스에서 TV뉴스리포터로 활동하던 그녀는 의학 분야를 전문적으로 담당하기 시작하여 프랑스 공영 방송에서 수백 차례의 의학보도와 의학프로그램을 제작했다. <오염된 남자>(2008)를 연출하였고, <지스팟을 찾아서>(2010)를 공동 연출하였다.

She made hundreds of medical reports for French public television, and medical shows. She was the director of a documentary The Contaminated Man (2008). She co-directed, along with Gilles BOVON, In Search of the G Spot (2010).

질 보봉은 1969년 파리 출생. 파리에서 편집과 연출에서 지위를 확고히 한 그는 수많은 수상작의 편집 감독으로 참여하였다. 2010년 <지스팟을 찾아서>를 공동 연출하였으며 <당신이 해온 것>을 단독 연출하였다. 그는 현재 그의 모국인 스위스에 관한 프로젝트를 진행 중이다.

니콜은 루푸스를 앓으며 오랜 시간을 병원에서 지냈다. 그녀의 루푸스는 그녀를 고통스럽게 하지만 그녀 인생의 많은 부분을 차지하고 있는 뗄레야 뗄 수 없는 친밀한 관계이기도 하다. 그리고 그녀의 주위를 맴도는 작은 소년 '리틀 황'이 있다. 병의 의인화라는 단편 영화다운 번뜩이는 아이디어가 돋보이는 작품이다. 안정된 연출력을 바탕으로 차분하면서도 미스터리어스한 분위기를 잘 형상화하였다. (황미요조)

 

Nicole spent a long time in the hospital, suffering from lupus. Her illness pains her but it is also an intimate being that is a big part of her life, and that she cannot separate herself from. And there is a little boy called 'little Hwang' who lingers around her. This is an impressive work in which the brilliant idea of personifying an illness, which befits a short film, stand out. Based on solid direction, the director finely portrays a placid yet mysterious ambience. (HWANG Miyojo)

What if you‘re alienated, or even attacked, just because you‘re a little bit chubbier than the others? Wouldn‘t you want to blow a counterpunch to the people? 1987년 출생. 글쓰기와 사회적 현상을 관찰하는 것을 좋아하고, 미래를 계획하면서 사춘기를 보냈다. 늘 뚱뚱하게 살았기 때문에 감독은 이 영화가 인생의 획기적인 시점이 되리라고 믿고 있다. 모든 사회가치가 영화 한 편으로 변화하지는 않겠지만, 적어도 이야기를 꺼냈으니 다른 이들이 보고 듣는 기회를 갖게 될 것이라고 믿는다. <펀치>(2010)로 타이완여성영화제에 초청되기도 했다.

Liu Weiying was born in 1987. She had always like observing social phenomenons and spent her childhood constructing her future. Because she has always been overweight herself, she believes that this movie would be her turning point. It is hardly conceivable that the world will change with just one movie but she believes that it will at least offer an opportunity for all to hear and think about the issue at hand. Punch was showcased at the 2010 Taiwanese Women's Film Festival.
